TS-A1673R Features Carbon Graphite IMPP Interlaced Aramid/Basalt Fiber Cone
One of Pioneer's major speaker breakthroughs was IMPP (Injection-Molded Polypropylene), which allowed cones to be lighter and more rigid. Pioneer then added long stands of Aramid fibers into the mix, for extra strength. Now, they've gone even further with the TS-A1673Rs, adding basalt and carbon graphite interlaced with long aramid fibers to provide strength and rigidity that powerful bass sound requires. High-density compressed internal architecture is resilient, stacks up against high power well and transfers sound quickly. The result is full-bodied, rich sound with midrange depth that conventional IMPP cones cannot match, and the durability to stand up to the high volume levels, humidity, and temperature extremes that thrash other speakers.  Best Bang for Your Buck June 20, 2010

I'm a bargain hunter, always have been. I came across the Pioneers while browsing the car audio section of a Electronics store close to our place. The store had a different set of 6 1/2" Pioneer speakers on sale. When I listened to the On-Sale speakers, I thought, for the $45.00 they would be OK. Then I listened to the TS-A1673R's. WAY better sound. They sounded better then the MTX and the set of Alpines they had hooked up, at almost twice the price. I asked the Salesperson working in the department if they where going on sale any time soon, he said No. So I decided to take the cheaper On-Sale set. Turns out they had none left. So, I asked for the department manager, and low and behold suddenly the TS-A1673R's are on sale. Got them for $65.00. Best $65.00 I ever spent. I installed them into the kick panels underneath the dash. Great response for such a small speaker. And they compliment my older 6x9 Pioneers I installed a few years back. Nice shallow depth when installing them surface mount. Always been a fan of Pioneer for Best Bang for Your Buck. And it still holds true. You can't go wrong with these speakers. 5 Stars.
Better than factory. May 14, 2010

Although these aren't the best speakers on the market today, they are with no doubt better than the factory junk that comes in the vehicle. After figuring out a way to modify and re-use my factory speaker mounts these fit nicely in all 4 doors of my '09 Sierra. Powering them using only what the Pioneer AVH-P3200DVD head unit can feed to them they still sound great, I probably won't put an amp on these just yet. It all depends on how much my future addition of a subwoofer drowns them out.
Great performance for the money May 10, 2010

I bought these to replace the blown door speakers in my 99 Camry. I run them off a stock AMP, FYI. I like a little base at my feet and not just from the back of the car, and these do the job. I ran them off the stock stereo for the first week and wasn't too impressed with the base. But when I got my new Pioneer stereo installed this weekend (with an equalizer) I was able to really bring out the base. They aren't going to blow you away. But when paired with the 6x9's I get the "surround base" that I prefer.
Like the 6x9's I bought, these are great speakers for the money. But you need a stereo with an equalizer to really bring out their potential. Runny them off a stock stereo with just a base and treble up/down won't maximize your investment.

This set of speakers is perfect, good highs lows and mids and they fit in my car easily enough. I would definitely recommend these to anyone. I also purchased some Pyle speakers and to be honest the Pyles sound just as good as these, other than the Pyles have very cheap speaker wire. So if you REALLY need to save 20 bucks go check those out. If not I would stick with these because I am sure durability is a lot higher.
