Worth the money June 24, 2010 Phyllis M. Adams (Maine) I bought this for my son for Chirstmas and I couldn't beleive the sound, you would have thought I spent more money then I did. Nice feature that he can put his IPOD on it and listen to that music that way too. I would buy this again and I just may for my husband as we lost our stereo system in a fire but ours was so much more money but I don't hear the difference in the sound. So, it's been 6 months now and no problems.
For the Price, Excellent May 10, 2010 Jonathan E. Hecht (San Francisco, CA USA) For the money, this is an excellent shelf-size sound system; heavy clear bass, crisp highs. The features are easy to use and make sense. Remote is intuitive and handles a wide range of manipulations. The subwoofer is a great added benefit for a system this size. I recommend this product.
For the price, outstanding sound you won't get with any other brand April 19, 2010 Matthew J. Hodgkins 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is such a great stereo. I listen to it almost every day at my dorm in college. I rarely even have it over 1/2 volume, and it's still so LOUD! This goes way louder than my surround sound system back home. Even without the sub it's hang banging bass. 530 Watts is great, no problems at all. My roomate left the window open once and this thing got soaked...I mean like dripping, but it still works like new! only somewhat complaint is the display, there's been no problems, its just super basic. That was probably that way so they could keep the price low, though. I'd rather have better sound over a fancier display! On full volume, sound is not distorted, and you can hear it hundreds of feet away. Highly recommended if you like loud music and not a huge budget.
Easy easy easy to use April 13, 2010 The Salt Lake Sanhedrin (Northwest US) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
When I asked for a Sony shelf system for my birthday, my husband was puzzled. We have a really good home theater system. I was just so weary of working 2 or 3 remote controls to select an input source, select a function on that source, select a speaker system setup, etc etc. I just wanted to put a CD in the player, and I didn't want to have to check to see if it was a CD-DA or CD-R of MP3s, etc. With this system, it's insert and listen, and the sound is very good and very loud. You can hear it over the vacuum cleaner when you're cleaning.
I thought that it would bother me that I couldn't adjust the EQ, but who really adjusts the EQ anyway? You mess with it the first day you get it, but then most people put it on ROCK and never touch it again. If you do like to adjust the EQ from scratch every time you listen to something, you probably want the more expensive Sony Muteki system.
When I bought this at Best Buy, I thought it was the SOny GX99 which has a 3 carousel CD, this one has only one. It hasnt really bothered me, though, since I can get 300 MP3 songs on a CD.
Great Value March 16, 2010 Joseph J. Letourneau 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
A great buy, perfect for my dorm room. Pumps out the bass so that I have to be careful with my neighbors, but I can turn the sub-woofer off during quiet hours.
