Best headphones I've had September 10, 2010 FaZe Right when I took out the headphones the design already had me blown away, but that wasn't as good as the sound quality. These headphones are too clean for $25 a pair.
Amazing September 9, 2010 nguyen tran (westminster ca) Hi everyone.
I am not an audiophile but I do listen to music a lot. I have owned a Creative Aurvana Live before and it sounded really good. The only problem is its size. Too bulky to an average Asian guy. Therefore, I decide to buy a pair of earphones. After doing a whole bunch of researches, I decided to buy this. Frankly, Jlab is a very very strange name to me but i'm really happy that I picked these earphones. My final contestants are Sennheiser CX 500-B, Sony MDR-XB40EX and this one. I would have bought the Sennheiser CX 500-B if I hadn't read the reviews about fake earphones :) The Sony MDR-XB40EX costs twice as much as this one and I don't think it's worth it. Really impressed by the sound of the JBuds J3. Got them for $20 and i think the sound quality is almost the same as Creative Aurvana Live which costs me around $80 :) Highly recommend this baby to anyonne
Awesome! September 9, 2010 Brooke Billing (NJ) I loved these! I had to change the sizes and now both of them are different but that might just be my ears. The bass amazing for earbuds and the sound is very clear. Thanks JLas!
Not good at all. Unless you hate bass and good sound September 9, 2010 nickjs I recently purchased the J3 headphones from amazon based on the overwhelmingly positive ratings for the headphones in that price range. I received them today, and I am very unsatisfied by the audio quality.
These are -- and I say this with no exaggeration -- some of the muddiest, ugliest sounding noises I've ever heard. The sounds I'm hearing from songs I intimately know sound foreign. The low end bass is non-existent. The mid-level bass is just almost there. The middle range is completely muddy, and the high end is through the roof. On wonderfully mastered songs, what you end up with is a tinny -- yet somehow muffled -- song with almost inaudible vocals and indistinguishable tracks of instruments blending into this ugly, ugly mix. It sounds like having a laptop speaker funneled right into my ear.
I can see where this type of mix would work perfectly -- acoustic, country, audiobook, spoken word. But for anything where you want to hear each layered instrumental track, this would be impossible.
I sent an email to JLab before posting this review, and the reply was a form letter email asking me to let the headphones "burn-in". I followed their process and nothing changed.
Save yourself the aggravation I went through.
Dissatisfied September 8, 2010 Dave The earphones construction feels very solid but looks can be deceiving. After using them a handful of times the left ear is starting to go out. I've taken great care of these earphones and have not put them under any stress. This can only mean the quality of these earphones is lacking. For the money these earphones do give great sounds, however the longevity is disappointing. If you are looking for earphones that will last you awhile, you should look elsewhere.
