Samsung DTBH260F HDTV Terrestrial Receive March 29, 2010 Klaus E. Meyer (St. Charles, MO) Receiver works great. Purchased it as a demo unit; had zero problems. Receives all digital TV channels without any problems.
Terrible product. March 25, 2010 Tony Messerschmidt I am now looking for a replacement. Mine, like many others, a handful of weeks outside of warranty replacement decided to never power on again. My research leads me to faulty power supplies. Other complaints are that startup/shutdown time of the unit is very slow and changing the channels requires lots of patience as well. I personally own 3 Samsung tv's and love them so I am not hatin on them as a whole, this just happend to be a turd that can't be pollished.

Only lasted one year March 19, 2010 J. Moore (Twin Cities, MN) Everything was great until it started losing channels. I would be watching a program and the channel would just disappear. The only way to get the channel back was to do a full scan and it would only last for 15 minutes or so before it would disappear again. Nice product if it was reliable.
I had great results with this unit. March 16, 2010 Selwyn A. Jones (Sacramento, CA USA) This Samsung Terestrial Receiver worked even better than I expected. My 2004 30" Mitsubishi LCD TV has a DVI input, not HDMI, and was manufactured years before the digital switch. The Samsung works very well with my 30' outdoor antenna. I'm in Sacramento and pick up many San Francisco-Bay Area stations in 1080-720-480. All I had to do was purchase a HDMI to DVI converter. I turned my Comcast HD boxes in and I'm saving $110.00 a month. GREAT PRODUCT FOLKS!
GET 'EM WHILE YOU CAN! January 27, 2010 NormL W I have an early Panasonic plasma with no built-in TV tuner. When my stand-alone Samsung SIR-T451 digital tuner started dying, I desperately tried to find a new stand-alone HDTV tuner. To my dismay, I found out they don't make them anymore! There is one -- it's built into a Toshiba DVD recorder, but the sound output is stereo ONLY; no Dolby surround sound.
Then I discovered a seller by the name of "snagx" was selling used Samsung DTBH260F HDTV receivers through amazon.com. Leery of buying something used over the internet, I emailed the seller (snagx) asking if the DTBH260F was incompatible with my audio/video setup, could I return it. He graciously replied he would consider a return if the unit was incompatible. Based on this fact, I gambled and ordered a used but "like new" unit from snagx through amazon.com.
Boy was I astonished! The used DTBH260F tuner was beyond my wildest expectations! My old tuner [SIR-T451] was a piece of junk in comparison to the DTBH260F. The picture quality is astonishing, and the station capture is rock solid; no fade-outs. The big bonus is the automatic surround sound. Whatever the station is broadcasting, that's what you get. If it's Dolby 5.1, it automatically locks in (depending on your home theatre system). If you are in need of a stand alone HDTV tuner, I highly recommend the Samsung DTBH260F, and highly recommend the seller, "snagx" through amazon.com.
